The Korean History Project is not in the business of collecting information on visitors to its web site
- The web server hosting this site automatically recognizes only each web site visitor's domain name, but not e-mail address (where possible).
- Email - The e-mail addresses of those who communicate with me by e-mail are kept for reference only as well as aggregate information on what pages visitors access or visit on this web site.
- Cookies - This site does not set any cookies.
- Ad Servers: This site does not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.
- SPAM - This site does not use, condone, nor in any way participate in unsolicited e-mail schemes. If you do not want to receive e-mail from me in the future, please let me know by sending an e-mail to the above address.
- Charitable Contributions and Donations - This site does accept charitable donations to help continue its presence on the Internet. To ensure that all contributions remain a private matter, the Korean History Project is a member of the Amazon Honor System, which uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software that allows you to make an anonymous contribution with confidence it will be safe and confidential.
- At no point is your credit card information or other personal information transmitted via email or any other non-secure method.
- Personal and financial information regarding donations is kept strictly confidential. Donor information is never revealed and email addresses are never sold.
- Does the Amazon Honor System share any information about me with third parties?
In a word, NO! Amazon.com sent your "personalized" paybox directly to your browser software. The Korean History Project did not receive your name or any other information about you from them. In fact, Amazon.com will not share any of your personal information from the Amazon Honor System with others, not even me. Read the Amazon.com Privacy Notice.
- Does the Amazon Honor System record the sites that I visit?
Again, NO! Most Web server computers automatically create logs of information transmitted over the Internet. Even though the Amazon Honor System generates personalized payboxes, they do not save copies of them.
- The Amazon Honor System uses special software that removes your name and similar information from the system's records before they are stored in their server logs. Amazon.com does not maintain records on any of their internal computers that track the Web sites you visit or that would permit the Korean History Project to construct a record of the Web sites you visit.
- Your personal and financial information is safe with Amazon.
- Information collected by the Korean History Project is used only for internal review and is either used to improve the content of this site or discarded. Collected information on visitors is never shared with other organizations for any reason whatsoever unless directed to do so by law enforcement agencies for a specific reason.
- From time to time, visitor information may be used for new, unanticipated purposes not previously disclosed in this privacy statement. If information use practices change at some time in the future, those policy changes will be posted to this web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses.
